Hallo everyone  read please this blog and can you all give examples types of reference (reference variables or consonant references) that you understand, or give your opinion about this material.

Reference
References is the relation between a language expression such as this door, both doors, the dog, another dog and whatever the expression pertains to in particular situation of language use, including what a speakers may imagine.
References is a relationship between objects in which one object designates, or acts as a means by which to connect to or link to, another object. The first object in this relation is said to refer to the second object. It is called a name for the second object. The second object, the one to which the first object refers, is called the referent of the first object. A name is usually a phrase or expression, or some other symbolic representation. Its referent may be anything a material object, a person, an event, an activity, or an abstract concept.
Reference can take on many forms, including : a thought a sensory perception that is audible (onomatopoeia), visual (text), olfactory, or tactile, emotional state, relationship with other, space time coordinate, symbolic or alpha-numeric, a physical object or an energy projection. In some cases, methods are used that intentionally hide the reference from some observers, as in cryptography.
References feature in many spheres of human activity and knowledge, and the term adopts shades of meaning particular to the contexts in which it is used. Some of them are described in the sections below.

1                 Types of reference:
1.      Variable reference are expressions that have their reference totally dependent on context. Variable reference consist of :
-        One word
-        Many expression
-        Refer to different type of that object
Example :
Book  “ the word book has a real object or appearance in the world”

2.      Consonant reference are expressions that have the same referent across a range of utterance. Consonant variable consist of :
-        One word
-        Many expression
-        Refer to the same thing
Example :
o   America America has a real appearance and also can be defined in other words or expressions”
-        The Eiffel tower
-        The red sea

So, how if i said word "french" what's in your mind guys? What things that you thingking of this word, "french" refers to? Thanks  you all

    3. here you explain the Reference can take on many forms, including: a thought a sensory perception that is audible (onomatopoeia), visual (text), olfactory, or tactile, emotional state, relationship with other, space time coordinate, symbolic or alpha-numeric , a physical object or an energy projection. In some cases, methods are used that intentionally hide the reference from some observers, as in cryptography. therefore I ask examples of references in the form of time coordinates?

    1. Cryptography has several security aspects, including:

Confidentiality, ensuring that the data can only be accessed by certain parties.
Authentication (authentication) is an identification made by each party communicating with each other, meaning that several communicating parties must identify with each other.
Integrity (integrity), guarantees that every message sent must reach the recipient without any part of the message being replaced, duplicated, damaged, changed in order, and added.
Non-repudiation, prevents the sender or recipient of denying that they have sent or received a message.

  6. hello iam Ais I have a question about Representational Theory:
is this included in the type of reference or not ? beacuse that is same meaning about the relationship between expressions as well as how they meditate by the mind. That is the main difference between the two.

    1. I guess you mean cryptography. from the article that I read, Cryptography is a method of protecting information and communication through the use of codes so that only those intended for information can read and process it. so in my opinion who can get that information is the person who has the code and only gives the code

    2. In my opinon That variable means only one rich in "table" is "table" but if the consonant has a broader meaning, example when I say Banten, probably you should think anything about banten. (Hifni khotibul u 171230153)

    4. Different between a reference variable with a consonant reference so if that variable is an expression that is entirely dependent on their reference. for example "book" is a book that is a real object because it has a form, while a consonant reference is an expression that has the same reference in various utterances. for example, "Bogor" has a real appearance and can also be defined in other words or the phrase "we can call it" Bogor "as a city of rain "kota hujan"

    5. In my opinion,in short the Variable Reference means only one. For example: chair (meaning that a chair cannot be interpreted differently) while a Consonant Reference can mean a lot. For example: Nail (can kuku or paku). I'm sorry if I wrong

  12. in my opinion, the French word refers to the consonant reference. because the referring expression is used in an utterance to refer to something, which makes an expression can be mentioned as a referring expression.

    1. Onomatopoeia is a word that was formed from the combination of two Greek words, "onoma" which means "name" and "poiein" which means "to make".
Onomatopoeia is a word or words that when voiced are an imitation of the sound produced by the object in question.
      The cow
Ex: goes "moo" and the sheep goes "baa".

  21. After read, i want to ask, do you know about Sense? Can you distinguish reference and sense? Does Sense have equations with reference or not? give me examples, please!

    BalasHapus
    Balasan
    1. The reference of a word is the relation between the linguistic expression and the entity in the real world to which it refers. In contrast to reference, sense is defined as its relations to other expressions in the language system. Thus, there are words that have a sense, but no referents in the real world. Other words may differ in sense, but not necessarily in reference, and vice versa.

      Hapus
    2. References are the way the speaker and listener use expressions.

not all words can be associated with mental images. example sentences 'The dog bit a man' and 'The man bit a dog', using ordinary examples, contain the same words but they do not express the same meaning.

Sense is giving the meaning of a word, commonly used in dictionaries and paraphrasing it.

Ex. To say that le train bleu means `the blue train 'is to say that the French expression and the English expression have the same sense.

  22. I believe this reference material is very powerful because we can understand to express l, one word becomes a phrase phrase easily understood by others. So you haveconsonant reference are expressions that have the same referent across a range of utterance.

  23. In my opinion the word "frence" belongs to the consonant reference. Because the word has many meanings or many perceptions about the word. That can be said as the name of a country, can also people immediately think of the Eiffel Tower.

From articel that i read. Reference and sense. The reference of a word Hbis the relation between the linguistic expression and the entity in the real world to which it refers. In contrast to reference, sense is defined as its relations to other expressions in the language system.

    3. if "kentang goreng" it's not just "French", but "french fries".

      Hapus
    4. in my opinion, if seen from the example of reference variable is "book", the word "book" can be intrepreted differently depending on the context. because the word "book" can be interpreted "memesan" or "buku".
While, the example of consonant reference is the "Eiffel tower' which although people will differ in their expression but the references are the same and dont depend on context.

      Hapus
    5. from the article I read the difference is
=>consonant is a speech sound that is articulated with complete or partial closure of the vocal tract. Examples are [p], pronounced with the lips; [t], pronounced with the front of the tongue; [k], pronounced with the back of the tongue; [h], pronounced in the throat; [f] and [s], pronounced by forcing air through a narrow channel (fricatives); and [m] and [n], which have air flowing through the nose (nasals).
A vowel is a syllabic speech sound pronounced without any stricture in the vocal tract. Vowels are one of the two principal classes of speech sounds, the other being the consonant. Vowels vary in quality, in loudnessand also in quantity (length). They are usually voiced, and are closely involved in prosodicvariation such as tone, intonation and stress.
